Jackie Robinson Bronze Medal – Honoring a Legacy of Courage and Equality
This bronze medal pays tribute to Jackie Robinson, a groundbreaking figure in American history whose courage on the baseball field and advocacy off it helped reshape the nation. It is a replica of the Congressional Gold Medal awarded to him in recognition of his lasting contributions to civil rights.
A Historic Life Remembered:
In 1947, Jackie Robinson shattered Major League Baseball’s color barrier, becoming the first African American to play in the modern era. His achievements went far beyond the game—he became a symbol of strength, dignity, and the fight for equality. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962, and in 1997, became the first African American featured on a gold U.S. commemorative coin.
Obverse (Front):
Features a striking portrait of Jackie Robinson. To the left, the inscriptions read:
“JACKIE ROBINSON”
“A Lifetime of Advocacy for Social Justice & Human Dignity”
At the bottom rim appears “ACT OF CONGRESS 2003,” acknowledging the national recognition of his enduring influence.
Reverse (Back):
Laurel branches frame a central plaque, engraved with one of Robinson’s most enduring quotes:
“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.”
— Jackie Robinson
This medal is more than a collectible—it’s a tribute to a man whose bravery, vision, and voice continue to inspire generations. A timeless reminder of the power one life can have on so many.
