440-404 B.C. Athenian Owl Silver Tetradrachm NGC MS

For centuries, Athens was one of the most powerful and respected city-states in the Aegean – the pinnacle of culture in the ancient world. During that golden age, it struck the most famous of all ancient coins: the Athenian Owl Tetradrachm of 449-413 B.C. These hefty silver coins became a recognized standard of value throughout the ancient world. Struck on thick blanks, they feature high-relief designs. On the obverse is Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, and on the reverse is her symbol, the owl. These coins are graded by NGC in a Mint State Grade. If you only own one ancient coin, this should be the one!

1. Is my package insured during shipping?

Yes! All shipments from United Patriot Coin are fully insured while in transit. Once a package is marked as delivered or signed for, insurance coverage ends.

2. What happens if my package is lost in transit?

Contact us immediately. We will help you communicate with the carrier to recover your package.

3. Will I need to sign for my package?

Yes, if your order is over $500, a signature is required. For your convenience, orders under $500 do not require a signature.

4. When will I receive my order?

Orders ship once payment clears. Some payments (like checks) have hold periods. Standard shipping time, for start to finish, is about 7-10 days.

5. Do you ship to P.O. Box addresses?

Yes, via USPS only. Be aware that insurance ends once delivery is confirmed.

6. Do you ship internationally?

No. We only ship within the United States, including P.O. Boxes. We do not ship to U.S. territories or internationally. If you want to export your order, select Bank Wire Transfer as the payment method and you can have your order shipped to a freight forwarder or agent of your choosing. The international portion of the delivery will remain your responsibility.
