2017 South African Silver Krugerand

The 2017 Silver Krugerrand marked the 50th anniversary of the Krugerrand coin series. The Krugerrand is a South African gold coin, first minted in 1967, and it quickly became one of the most popular and well-known gold bullion coins in the world.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary, the South African Mint issued the first-ever Silver Krugerrand in 2017. This silver version maintained the same design as the original gold Krugerrand, featuring the portrait of Paul Kruger, the former President of the South African Republic, on the obverse side, and a springbok, a national symbol of South Africa, on the reverse side.
